Introducing Woven Rosa

Rosey pinks, fiery reds and apricot oranges are regulars in our Pacha textile collection coinciding with the exuberant personalities of our artisans and weavers that we have been so lucky to work with. Inspired by countless bustling markets meandering south through Latin America and the vibrant colourful people we met along the way, we really felt their stories and traditions were worth re-telling.

The women that we buy our textiles from were all born and mostly still live in the various little villages and towns that we visited in the Andes. All were taught how to create the intricate weavings from when they were children and many have already passed their knowledge on to their daughters and granddaughters. This is such a precious thing to hold, in an age where knowledge is no longer power and anything can be taught to anyone on youtube, the bonds made and the heritage that is passed down through generations is unparalleled to anything that can be found on the internet.

The rugs that we selected and the artisans that we work with all represent our values and ethics. We want to share with you high quality products that have traditions and culture stitched into every piece. The stories that we were told about the women that we work with and the beautiful designs they weave we hope are passed onto you ready for more history to be created. We are completely transparent with what we do in a way that we want it to feel like you are almost buying something directly from the artisan.

We are advocates of fairtrade. We work directly with small, often remote communities and are proud to support women who practice these traditional skills as we feel these groups are often undervalued and over looked. Supporting women to earn an income benefits their whole family.

Dried plants and flowers are used to make the dyes that create these beautiful Andean textiles.

The lovely Carolina. This image was taken at Chinchero market in the Andean mountains where we first met.
