Pink Rugs have been in and out of glossy fashion mags for decades, there are so many different shades, patterns and styles to choose from that you can be sure there is a pink rug out there for you.

Like many non-neutral rugs, it can be a little bit of a big decision to buy a bold centerpiece rug, but when they are styled with a few other thoughtfully couloures accessories or softened with a pastel sofa then a pink rug can really unify a room.

Otherwise if you opt for a soter more blush pink rug then it can create a sense of tranquility and relaxation, perfect for bedrooms.

1. Clean and Simple

You don’t have to go big and bold when you’re on the hunt for a pink rug. Take a look at the shot above, a blush pink rug offsets the grey sofa beautifully, two pink cushions unify the look and it's topped off with a magazine holder - very 80’s. The simple design creates a stylish space with the pastel tones of the blush pink rug making the space feel warm and tranquil.

2. Accessorise

If you’re adding an accent of pink in your living room you don’t have to go all guns blazing and cover the place in pink. A blush pink rug with the addition of a few items dotted around your space will unite the room and not make the rug look out of place. Granted, the space above does have more than a few pink home accessories, however a pink cushion or plant pot will suffice.

3. Fluffy Rugs for Freezing Feet

When you take your shoes off after a particularly stressful hump day there is no better way to feel like you’re home than to stretch your toes on a pink fluffy rug. Style with a few mix match cushions on your sofa alongside another colour. Blue and pink like the image above works really well.

8. Dark Pink

A dark pink rug will add some depth to your living room especially if you have a fairly light colour scheme. A dark pink rug is a great idea to add some darker colours to your room as it will take away minimal natural light compared to adding dark features on your wall. It also hides stains and any other spillages really well (especially red wine).

What sort of cushions match a pink rug

The obvious answer is pink cushions, there are many different shades of pink cushion available. A dark pink cushion behind a dusky pink cushion works really well and unites the room really well. You can also play around with various other colours of cushions, green goes well with certain shades of pink. You could also opt for a more neutral colour of cushion if your pink rug is quite bright, these will soften the feeling of the room and make the place feel more relaxing.

What is a pink rug made from

Rugs are made from many different materials. The pink rugs that are showcased by Woven Rosa are all made from sheep wool and woven on a back-strap loom in Peru.

Other materials include cotton and jute or wicker. There are many man made materials that you will see in many rugs too.

Each material has its pro’s and con’s, when you are ready to purchase a rug bear in mind the process in which the rug has been made, the  colour and the feel of the finished product.

Pink rugs come in all sizes. Woven Rosa rugs are all handmade on back-strapped looms, they are unique pieces so the lengths and widths are all different. They range from 75cm - 190cm in Width to 150cm - 250cm in length.
