Catalina Frazada Rug
The Catalina Frazada is handwoven in shades of coral, bright pinks and gold with an electric pink trim. She is pure joy!
Our Woven Rosa textiles originated from the highlands of the Sacred Valley region of Peru. Here weaving is engrained into life and skilled artisans are determined to keep their heritage alive by passing down their ancient knowledge to younger generations.
Our artisans spend weeks, sometimes months, creating their artwork which is handwoven on back-strapped looms. Each loom roughly measuring 1 metre wide (depending on the arm span of the artisan) which creates textiles with a similar width, the larger pieces are constructed by joining two together. The colours used in Andean textiles are all sourced naturally from the local surroundings, different colours tell different stories that reflect their culture which can be traced right the way back to the Inca’s.
All of the rugs are unique works of art and one of a kind pieces with so much history woven into each piece.
Everything has been sourced for a fair price directly from the communities where they were made.
